                                       roof cresting

Because it's a long way up that roof I decided not to use original materials for the cresting, but something that

would require very little maintenance. Instead of a wooden ridge cap I used copper, and instead of solid wood

cresting I used two sided MDO, used for street signs and boat hulls. First, I cut them out with a  jigsaw. Then I

dipped them in copper preservative, using a piece of plastic gutter as a trough. Then I  epoxied

the edges with marine grade epoxy (2 coats). Then I painted them with 2 coats of a polyurethane paint.
