About Sheriff Paugh

 

 

Paugh family - ca. 1866

 

Sheriff Paugh, an Indiana native, was Amador County Sheriff from 1857 until 1860. He was an 1850 graduate of Rush Medical College, doing his thesis on Pneumonia Bilioisa.He practiced as physician/surgeon in San Francisco until his death  in Alameda, February 7, 1901.
